Mahabharatham - மகாபாரதம்

Mahabharatham - மகாபாரதம் பாரதத்தின் இரண்டு இதிகாசங்களுள் ஒன்றாகும். மற்றது இராமாயணம் ஆகும். வியாச முனிவர் சொல்ல விநாயகர் எழுதியதாக மகாபாரதம் கூறுகிறது. இது சமஸ்கிருதத்தில் இயற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தியத் துணைக்கண்டப் பண்பாட்டைப் பொறுத்தவரை மிகவும் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த இந்த இதிகாசம் இந்து சமயத்தின் முக்கியமான நூல்களில் ஒன்று.

அறம், பொருள், இன்பம், வீடுபேறு என்னும் மனிதனுடைய நால்வகை நோக்கங்களையும், சமூகத்துடனும், உலகத்துடனும் தனிப்பட்டவருக்கு உரிய உறவுகளையும், பழவினைகள் பற்றியும் இது விளக்க முற்படுகின்றது. இது 74,000க்கு மேற்பட்ட பாடல் அடிகளையும், நீளமான உரைநடைப் பத்திகளையும் கொண்டு விளங்கும் இந்த ஆக்கத்தில் 18 இலட்சம் சொற்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன. இதனால் இது உலகின் மிக நீண்ட இதிகாசங்களில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. இது இலியட், ஒடிஸ்சி ஆகிய இரண்டு இதிகாசங்களும் சேர்ந்த அளவிலும் 10 மடங்கு பெரியது. தாந்தே எழுதிய தெய்வீக நகைச்சுவை (Divine Comedy) என்னும் நூலிலும் ஐந்து மடங்கும், இராமாயணத்திலும் நான்கு மடங்கும் இது நீளமானது.

நவீன இந்து சமயத்தின் முக்கிய நூல்களிலொன்றான பகவத் கீதையும் இந்த இதிகாசத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியே. பாண்டு, திருதராட்டிரன் என்னும் இரு சகோதரர்களின் பிள்ளைகளிடையே இடம் பெற்ற பெரிய போரை மையமாக வைத்து உருவாக்கப்பட்டதே இந்தக் காப்பியமாகும்.

இதனைத் தமிழில் இலக்கியமாகப் படைத்தவர் வில்லிபுத்தூரார் ஆவார். பாரதியார் மகாபாரதத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியை பாஞ்சாலி சபதம் எனும் பெயரில் இயற்றினார். வியாசர் விருந்து என்ற பெயரில் இராஜகோபாலாச்சாரி அவர்கள் மகாபாரதத்தினை உரைநடையாக இயற்றியுள்ளார்

தோற்றம்:

மகாபாரதம் முற்பட்ட பகுதிகள் வேதகாலத்தின் இறுதிப் பகுதியைச் (கிமு 5ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு) சேர்ந்தவையாக இருக்கலாம் எனக் கருதப்படுகின்றது. கிபி நான்காம் நூற்றாண்டில் தொடங்கிய குப்தர் காலத்தில் இது இதன் முழு வடிவத்தைப் பெற்றிருக்கலாம் எனவும் கூறப்படுகின்றது. நீண்ட காலமாகப் படிப்படியாக வளர்ச்சியடைந்தே இது இதன் முழு நீளத்தை அடைந்ததாகச் சொல்கிறார்கள். முறையான பாரதம் எனக் கூறப்படும் இதன் மூலப் பகுதி 24,000 அடிகளைக் கொண்டது என மகாபாரதத்திலேயே அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளது. வியாசரால் இயற்றப்பட்ட பாரதத்தின் மூலப் பகுதி 8,000 அடிகளைக் கொண்டிருந்தது என மகாபாரதத்தின் ஆதி பர்வம் கூறுகிறது இது ஜெயம் என அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பின்னர் வைசம்பாயனரால் ஓதப்பட்டபோது இது 24,000 அடிகளைக் கொண்டிருந்தது. உக்கிராஸ்ராவ சௌதி ஓதியபடி இது 90,000 அடிகளை உடையதாக இருந்தது.

இவ்விதிகாசத்தை எழுதியவராக மரபுவழியாக நம்பப்படும் வியாசர் இதில் ஒரு கதை மாந்தராகவும் உள்ளார். வியாசரின் வேண்டுகோளுக்கு இணங்கி, அவர் பாடல்களைச் சொல்ல, இந்துக் கடவுளான பிள்ளையாரே ஏட்டில் எழுதினார் என மகாபாரதத்தின் முதல் பகுதியில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. இடையில் நிறுத்தாமல் தொடர்ச்சியாகப் பாடல்களைச் சொல்லிவரவேண்டும் எனப் பிள்ளையார் நிபந்தனை விதித்தாராம். வியாசரும் எழுதுமுன் தன் பாடல் வரிகளைப் பிள்ளையார் புரிந்து கொண்டு எழுதினால் அந் நிபந்தனைக்கு உடன்படுவதாகக் கூறினாராம்.

"மகாபாரதம்" என்னும் நூல் தலைப்பு, "பரத வம்சத்தின் பெருங்கதை" என்னும் பொருள் தருவது. தொடக்கத்தில் இது, 24,000 அடிகளைக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது அது வெறுமனே "பாரதம்" எனப்பட்டது. பின்னர் இது மேலும் விரிவடைந்தபோது "மகாபாரதம்" என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.

Mahabharatham - Mahabharata is one of the two epics of Bharat. The other is the Ramayana. The Mahabharata says that Lord Vinayaka wrote the sage Vyasa. It was composed in Sanskrit. One of the most important texts of Hinduism is this epic, which is of great importance to the culture of the Indian subcontinent.

The earliest parts of the Mahabharata are thought to have belonged to the latter part of the Vedic period (5th century BC). It is said to have taken its full form during the Gupta period, which began in the fourth century CE. They say that it has reached its full length with a gradual growth over a long period of time. The original portion of the so-called formal Bharata is identified in the Mahabharata as having 24,000 feet. According to Adi Parvam of the Mahabharata, it is called the Jainam, the original part of Bharata composed by Vyasa was 8,000 feet. When it was recited by Vaisambayanar it was 24,000 feet. It was 90,000 feet, according to the Ughrasrawa Saudi read.

Traditionally believed to be the author of this epic, Vyasar is also a story master. In the first part of the Mahabharata it is said that he complied with the request of Vyasa and wrote the Hindu deity Pillaiyar Aele to sing his songs. Pillaiyar stipulates that the songs should be repeated continuously. If the child understands and writes his lyrics before Vyasaru writes, he has agreed to the condition.

The title of the book is "Mahabharata", meaning "The Great Story of the Paradha Dynasty". Initially, it was simply "Bharatham" when it was 24,000 feet. Later, when it expanded, it was called "Mahabharata".
